A group of ancient woods on a hillside overlooking the Mardyke, originally part of the Belhus Park Estate and acquired by the Forestry Commission in 2002. The woods are quite diverse in terms of tree species and from the slope there are good views across the flood plain of the Mar Dyke.

Visiting

Access from Stifford Road (B1335) in South Ockendon or from the footpath/bridleway running alongside the Mardyke, west of Davy Down. SatNav: RM15 5NG.

Accessible at all times.
